The hanging note bug? AFAIK all cards have this bug. But the bug only shows when also using digital speech over the same card. So an easy workaround is using two cards. One for the waveblaster port and the other one for digital speech.

Hmm do you have another S-Video capture device to test? The one I have is from Compro. It cost a little more than the cheap ones from eBay, but was the main product I found locally that had W7 64 bit drivers...

Hmm that's a bummer... What I could recommend is a VGA to S-Video converter Box. The one I got from eBay is quite decent. Though the built-in splitter will weaken the signal, so don't use it...

More of being reunited than purchased, but I guess we all like to see old hardware :) Visiting my folks at the moment and I have kept a few things in their attic. The MT-32 and MPU401AT I purchased in the UK in around 2001. I can't remember the price, but it was heaps less compared to what you need …

With the speaker thing, you could connect one cable to the PC case (ground) and then probe various solder points with the other cable. Hopefully you will hear something.

My PAS16 also has this hiss. It's constant and always present. But the card is very good in regards to not hearing any "computer thinking" noises. I did mute all the mixer inputs and things like that, but it had no effect on the hiss.

D1 looks like diode. It lets current flow only in one direction... On dosforum.de a guy resurrected a DOA SB 2.0 clone card. He replaced all the caps. Your best bet is to simply use two cards. One for speech and one for driving your DB. If you're driving an external unit, an AWE64 is a good option as it doesn't have this bug anymore.

I think the flashing of the cursor isn't correct because of how it looks in ScummVM (you can see that here ). The game is fully playable of course, but it's rather annoying. ScummVM is an interpreter of the SCUMM (and many other) game engines. Therefore many things aren't authentic and often …
