That could be useful! Also, you need to distinguish between PAS and PAS16, they are different and not compatible with each other. I know Police Quest 3 supports PAS and Space Quest 4 supports PAS16 (or both). So Sierra had some support. Descent (and Descent 2) also supports the PAS16 natively.

To me games are also kinda like interactive movies...I wanna let the story take me along and finally see the ending without having to see some scenes for 20 times :P True... We have a few clock doubled chips in our 3dbench database, I believe they are 40 MHz models on SX-20 machines. A 486DLC should have plenty of grunt, AFAIK they aren't that far behind a 486DX.

Alone in the Dark 1 (From GOG)... Had to use a walkthrough a few times, but otherwise it was heaps of fun. Started playing last night and finished it today. EDIT: Alone in the Dark 2 Not nearly as good, very action oriented, few puzzles.

Turns out the two files (.INTO and .GOG) are .bin and .cue files. They just need to be renamed in order to burn the game onto a CD and play on our retro PCs. It is indeed the CD version of AITD.

Yea, MT-32 FTW... The old Sierra adventures are an exception however. E.g. Space Quest 1,2 or Kings Quest 1,2,3. These games sound best on a Tandy (3 Voice speaker), or even better, on an Apple II. The Apple II had a very capable sound chip, even in Stereo. Space Quest 1 even has a digital sound …
