Yea, the aspect=true switch basically corrects the issue of LCDs having square pixels while CRTs did not. With a CRT you simply adjusted the picture and "blew it up"until it filled the screen. You can tell by looking at 95% of all playthroughs / let's play videos. They are all stretched horizontally …

I believe what Qbix is trying to say, is that this feels more like a blog / diary than a forum discussion... Regarding TV Output, just get a video card with S-Video Out or purchase a VGA to S-Video converter box.

Vista... Do you have automatic updates running? Check the history and see if something got installed recently... Also post your DOSBox config file, maybe we spot something and have a suggestion... Now this is not specific to your situation, but these are the settings I always recommend when people …

Your description is quite vague (e.g. what monitor do you have). Having said that, these settings should be fine for most users: fullscreen=true fullresolution=0x0 scaler=normal2x output=openglnb aspect=true

Nice, thanks for the info! I'm after a 370 board for a 1.4 PIII as well, but no need for ISA and would prefer the 815 chipset. Seeing the P4 was out and about as well, I'm assuming there aren't than many decent S370 boards? What brands / models can be recommended?

Gigabyte als made a few models with 1 ISA slot. What is harder to find, a mainboard or another Powerleap? Are 815 boards faster than VIA chipset boards + ISA slot?

Lot's of options! 1. You can create a bootable USB stick with DOS 6.22 or DOS 7 (which is part of W95/98). This should work on a modern PC. 2. DOS Boot floppy + parallel port IOMEGA Zip 100 3. FreeDOS PS: DOSBox is mostly for games...

Ok from now on: If we say DOS: You do "restart in ms-dos". So when you run SSBASIC.EXE from DOS, do you still get the "This installer cannot run under windows 95" message?

SBBASIC.EXE is for DOS, why are you running it from Windows??? From your point of view, what is MS-DOS? What do you do to get to MS-DOS on your machine?
