??? What 3 install disks? It's a single file (SSBASIC.EXE), which unpacks itself. Then you run INSTALL.EXE

2940 is an ISA card. Why do you talk about a SB16 PCI? Forget the AUTOEXEC and CONFIG for a while. Reboot into MS DOS mode, run CTCM and then run AWEUTIL/S and tell us if the driver loads and if you can play games.

Yes they are digital! And that ISA card was for that exact purpose! The thing is, back then emulation wasn't around. That didn't take off until years later...

I had a VLB ET4000 in my first 486 (and only) 486 build! It was a AM 486DX4-100 and the mainboard had this AMI mouse BIOS. That machine was epic for Doom and Descent. That time a lot of fan made WAD CDs where sold and many levels where quite demanding. The DX4-100 + VLB ET4000 ate them for late …

Things can get confusing when everyone uses different terms LOL Wavetable is short for Wavetable synthesis, just like there is Linear Arithmetic synthesis (MT-32). Hmm I noticed something odd the last 2 days and it might be related to some of the SP1 updates (I believe I got an update the other day). On occasions the refresh and back buttons don't work anymore (in IE8).

Wavetable is usually the synth that comes with the card. MPU401 is an interface, and usually attached to both, the DB and the external port. If you attach both, you should get music from both devices (DB and external MIDI device).

I have always struggled uploading files. I make sure the format and size are according to the rules, but it never fully uploads the files. Sometimes it goes through after 5 or 10 attempts, but there doesn't seem to be a pattern...
