Re: Anyone interested in recordings of different sound cards? I've got some here for you.

Looks like it's time to do a little research on the early PCI SoundBlaster sound cards. LOL this falls right on desk as it's related to my "run old games on modern hardware" project! Ensoniqs AudioPCI was their first budget card. The card is very simple, just a few components and the Wavetable part …

Re: Anyone interested in recordings of different sound cards? I've got some here for you.

Very good! I will listen in detail to these clips later on, my internet is maxed out with some over night downloads LOL What is 4-OP FM? Good the hear that the Live! 5.1 has better FM than the AudioPCI. It's related to a project I'm working on and the AudioPCIs wavetable emulation is the worst FM …

Re: Ensoniq / Creative AudioPCI

Well the USB Boot was a huge success! Works just like I expected... Tried a few games on my netbook. All the new ones run fine, like Blood and Duke Nukem 3D. Even at 800 x 600 and super smooth :-) Just need to add a mouse driver (machine will have to have a PS/2 port I guess) and I'm good to go to …

Re: Ensoniq / Creative AudioPCI

Coolies! Well the USB boot flash drive was a peace of cake! That HP tool is awesome. It can even do Fat16 if you want Dos 6.22 with 2 GB max. storage. But if you have a big fat USB stick go with Fat32 and W95B or W98. I haven't figured out how to remove the W98 boot/splash screen but the config.sys …

Re: Munt development ?

I don't see the tip off. Buyers bid that much, so to many they are worth that much... Ebay is not the only place you can get these. You can try the goold old classifieds and other auction sites that aren't as popular. But yea I get your point, but for me I was happy to spend the money and have …

Re: Ensoniq / Creative AudioPCI

AudioPCI had perfect support for SB16 in all the games I tried so far! See the list on page 1... I will also source a Audigy Value and see if this card work on a modern Phenom II machine 🤣 Now I just need to work out how to make a W98SE boot USB stick with all drivers and some games on it!

Re: Ensoniq / Creative AudioPCI

Nice find! Thanks Some interesting infos on that page: Note, the Audigy is the last PCI sound card from Creative Labs to fully support DOS. Hehe looks like I will be looking for an Audigy as well :happyhappy: EDIT the drivers for your card are the same I'm using for my AudioPCI. For the mixer …

Re: Ensoniq / Creative AudioPCI

Hello! Do you have a image of your card? Does it look similar to the AudioPCI? Could you upload your driver here so I can take a look? My driver has a mixer utility where you can change the CD volume. You can also change it in the SBPCI.INI file! And you already have the audio cable from the CD-Rom …

Re: decentralization of the PC

Whatever technology we will be using, wireless technology will play a key role that's for sure. Mobile devices will also play a key role. I see Mobiles are getting more and more powerful with each generation and soon they will be fast enough where you just drop them into a dock which is hooked up to …
