Another method is - edit ref_gl.dll, find strings "GL_EXTENSIONS: %s" and replace "%s" to "%p". This is working for all Q1 and Q2 engine games, by the way.

1. No. The game is using statically linked glide and is working only with a real Voodoo1 or Voodoo2. 2. More raw processor power. Because glide for this game is emulated by CPU only. 25 FPS? Are you sure there is no in-game FPS limiter in Whiplash?

Set the 512 MB RAM limit (MaxPhysPage=1FFFF in the [386ench] section of system.ini. Disable HyperThreading in BIOS. 99% of reboots and crashes are gone after this.

You are trying to run DOS game in Win7 cmd prompt. Of course this will not work. For this exact case - the game want MSCDEX for a cd assess. Use DOSBox or a virtual PC.
