Windows 8.2 - now you have the option: show the Start button or hide the Start button... Windows 8.3 - hey, we have fixed this damn Start button, the show/hide option is really working now! Etc.

Don't have games. (Well, I have 3 games from this list). Don't have anything with MIDI out. (My SoundMAX game port isn't plugged in motherboard. I'm too lazy). Don't have a game port/midi in/midi out/joystick cable. Don't have a MT-32 unit. Etc.

Good riddance. And? 1) This is beta. 2) "No Xp driver at all" and "no latest Xp driver" - two different cases. I still use 12.4 for my HD2600 Agp. And 10.3 for X850. Ok, I have installed and tested the game again. It looks like the ddraw mode is working good with the 15 FPS. The FPS drop is very low (1-2 FPS). No tearing. 3dfx mode, especially with dynamic lightming=on is skipping more frames (FPS=8-10). So - the tearing is here... With FPSLimit=60 the resulting …

AMD/ATI just dropped support for graphics drivers on XP. False. Latest 13.4 is supporting Xp with all HD 5xxx-7xxx. Even NVidia is supporting Xp drivers for all videocards (up to 7xx), you just need to select "all/beta" as the filter. Maybe Intel will drop the Xp support for new 8-series chipsets …

About Mask of Eternity patch - the game need "KQGame::FPSLimit 60" string in console.cs. 15 FPS = heavy tearing with in-game inventory and main menu shields. Especially with the 3dfx mode. By the way, this "where to get the missing files" quesion is the main reason to avoid GoG, Steam or others …

Ah, sorry... The trouble is - output=overlay isn't supporting scaling with high or true color. Use ddraw or opengl.

The source for this may be standard "OGL extensions buffer" overflow. Find the line gl_extensions: %s in ref_gl.dll and replace %s to %p. As the radical solution - install Anachronox build 44, nGlide and use WickedGL renderer.

Have tested my CD version 1.00. The game is working perfectly w/o any info.dat editing. But my version is standalone Menzoberranzan, not the cd from the Masterpiece Collection. Info.dat is 17 bytes long and D: are the last two symbols in this file. P.S. Have tested the 3rd cd from the AD&D …

IIRC DOSBox is reading/executing any x86 instruction in 1 cycle. Vanilla hardware use 1-4 cycles per instruction... So - you can't translate cycles to MHz even in theory.

NGlide 1.01 is using wrong pixel center for re-sizer. So - only "Screen Resolution=by app (default)" is working correctly. Must be fixed in the next version...

Yes, I had several Win9x/WinXp PCs on Asus P4P800 SE boards with the SoundMAX audio (it is using Sensaura). Very solid solution for old PC games. A3D 1.0, EAX 2.0 and DS3D hardware full HRTF. Unfortunately A3D is still Win9x only...
