If you swap the cables around on the PC's does the problem change? Do you hook these up to a LCD monitor? If so and you hook the offending PC straight up to the monitor does the problem go away? Some dual output video cards only show a bios on a specific port.

Porsche 2k starts under DX9 for me. Is there something missing using DX9 for you? I have not played much of nfs5 though but have beat NFS3/4/UG1/UG2/Carbon/MW... I believe NFS 3/4/5 could benefit with EAX soundcard (Soundblaster live!/ audigy). Don't know how your Via chipset would like them though …

enabling something like fastvid or mtrrlfbe i get around high 40's and 50's on my 1.4 p3 and a fx5900 at 1024x768. Might get 20 to 30's around 16x12 maybe. I dont have my giant crt hooked up to check that res.

There's alot of work arounds. Glide emulation is one I'm trying out now as i can use a hdmi kvm with my quadro fx 3000 and get higher resolutions and performance than 3dfx cards. Is there something holding you back from pulling the videocards cooling fan and just putting in 120mm fan blowing on the heatsink? I'd done this to both my Quadro FX 3000 and 9800XT. The FX3000 is no where near as hot running as the 9800XT.

That is weird, with the VXD drivers in duke nukem3d setup it should have "Soundblaster 16 or AWE 32" @ 220 for Sound FX card and "General Midi" @ 330 for the Music Card.
