Re: old movies

in Milliways
You know a lot of crap was made in those days too, we just tend to remember the good stuff. I remember watching a lot of Hitchcock movies but honestly I found a lot of his earlier work stiff and wooden. Gone with the winds? The rope? Citizen Kane? No thanks! Sure there is good old movies but there …

Re: oh when will the price of gpus come down?

in Milliways
With the energy prices rising, mining crypto's isn't profitable so I expect a lot of hardly used mining gpu's come onto the market in the near future. This way I got my RX 570 during the last crypto bear. As for the really new stuff, I don't expect prices and availability to drop significantly as …

Re: Similar game to Fire Fight?

in Windows
Might want to check out Brigador though it's more mech based but it also has hovertanks and flying vehicles. Will give this some more thought to see if I can think of more, I've always liked playing the demo of Fire Fight.

Re: Why is YouTube decreasing video resolutions?

in Milliways
All I know is that when I upload videos to YT they're always compressed to hell so I stopped uploading. I don't think it's your provider as they don't meddle with that sort of thing. The reason why the 8K video isn't available anymore is probably because YT's algorithm decided the popularity of that …

Re: Old scratched cd backup help

I repaired a lot of bad PS2 dvd's with Brasso with mostly good results. The process is to have a flat surface to put the cd/dvd on, have a fine clean cotton cloth and dampen it with a bit of water, shake the bottle of Brasso, put a little bit but not too squeemish and start rubbing, add a bit of …

Re: What phone do you use currently?

Galaxy A3 (2017), because it was one of the smaller smartphones. Apart from the navigation and music play function I hardly use/need it, for normal computing funtions and internet it's pretty useless as touchscreens is the singlemost godawful invention after touchpads.

Peter Swinkels wrote on 2021-09-10, 20:21: @procyon: I remember that scene! 😀 But what is the point of linking to it in this thread? Just as a reminder that it's pretty old stuff your dealing with. 😁 And I love that scene and use any excuse to post it. 😜

Re: Some issues with Sports Car GT

I'm coming back to this thread as I had a lot of issues with it but I've got most of it solved (sort of). First of all the Step 1 SCGT patch doesn't seem to work for me as good as opposed to the 1.551 patch. Second, when exiting a session in quickrace (chosen from the first menu when you start the …

Re: CD-Burners

I burned my fair share of CD's and DVD's but I can't really say I'm nostalgic about them. Still at the moment I would never consider a PC build without an internal optical drive even though new PC cases which support 5.25" trays have become extinct. I hope those usb drives are any good.

Re: Mercedes-Benz Truck Racing Controller Settings

Maybe get an older gamepad which supports DirectInput. I've got a couple of old Logitech gamepads (Dual Analog, Rumblepad 2) and they work fine with older games and I can even use them with Xinput games when I use x360ce. If you get one of the F series they support both DirectInput and Xinput by …
