A little update about this issue. I'm having the same problem with FIFA96. I mounted the cd by using the following: "mount d f:\ -t cdrom -usecd 0" and i got the same error message: File read error. Could it be that maybe any component on this game is not compatible with Dosbox? I'm running version …

I tried using the original cd drivers, and it didn't work at all. Now that i installed the drivers linked, it works perfect! Still I think that if Dosbox used sound irq 5 instead of 7, compatibility with old games would be better perhaps... or not at all... who knows 😁

Now here's another question: why doesn't the original sb16 drivers work on Dosbox? And why does Dosbox uses SB irq 7 instead of 5?

Dosbos has the default setting of Sound Blaster set to use irq 7, so you should check this out to see if your config file is ok. Now I really don't know about the full screen issue. Perhaps reducing frameskips should do it.

No goal DosFreak. Still have to open any game to get choppy sound. If I start Windows just after starting Dosbox, it freezes completly.

Here's a little update: if i start any game, like wolf3d for instance, and the quit it and start windows, there is choppy sound. MIDI is perftect and wave is choppy and all mute some times, but the device is avaliable. any ideas on how to get clear sb16 sound on windows? 🙁
