Mechwarrior 2 STB Edition

Hi everyone, I have just purchased the STB Velocity Edition of Mechwarrior 2, to further complete my collection of this game. But now I'm wondering: Which Velocity card is supported for this game? Is it the STB Velocity 3D (S3 Virge) Or the STB Velocity 128 (nvidia Riva 128)? Does anyone here know? …

Re: Quake 3 and a 6MB Voodoo 1

I don't want to be a nagger here, but this is really trying to go from unplayable framerates to still uplayable. Your cpu is giving a rough 70% of your minimum system requirements and with this card you aren't even getting close to the requirement of a pentium2 266. I have a pentium 2 350 at home …

Re: Voodoo rush working slow ?

If you want decent framerates, you really need to upgrade your CPU, going with a mmx233, but since you are using a p100 is it a socket 5 or 7 version? Because if you have the so5, you need to upgrade your mainboard too. In that case I would at least go for a pentium2 233 on 66mhz fsb slot1 with 64mb …

Re: Voodoo 5 5500 vs voodoo 4 4500

That would be the same. Difference is: the voodoo 5 5500 AGP card is limited to AGP 2x 3,3V and the voodoo 4 4500AGP supports 1,5V agp 4x. The voodoo 5 5500 PCI in this case runs on newer systems, even on the ones which have pci-e, as long as they have PCI slots. Thus they can have a little higer …

Re: 3dmark99 MegaThread

I also did a rerun of my Voodoo 5 5500 AGP. Since I now use a ECS KT333 mainboard that actually supports 333FSB CPU's. So I've put a AMD Athlon XP2800+ on the socket with 2x 512MB DDR400 at 333 with CL2 and to agressive settings. Since KT400 or Nforce 2 is mostly AGP8X/4X only thats as far as I can …

Re: 3dmark99 MegaThread

Aebtdom, that's intersting to see your result in comparison to mine (few posts up) with similar systems and clock speeds. I guess the 400mhz bus may be the advantage for my machine. I don't think the L2 or RAM would make as much of a difference. I think you might be right. Are you using the nforce2 …

Re: Voodoo 2 - Pentium MMX and PCI fans

128mb is actually literally slowing your performance. I have a 11% performance hit if I go from 64 to 128mb memory on the mmx 233. And voodoo 2 can run almost every Glide dos game and run the windows games in 800x600 if you would like with z buffering enabled. For example nfs3.
