Yeah, that comment on that RN11 was from another source. I still haven't verified this. Perhaps the v2 and v3 boards found another way to implement U5SX support.

Have you enabled the special features yet? The FPU enhancement is one of the big ones. If you plan on using a Voodoo1 or Voodoo2, this thread should offer some insight as to what speed you can expect. Voodoo 1 vs. Voodoo 2 on a 486

How is your Doom window set? Zoomed in all the way (no green border) and still having the status bar shown at the bottom? How is your Wolf3D being run? Are you using wolf_286.exe timedemo? I assume you are using PCPBench /VGAMODE ? How chart shows 640x480 and 320x200, but the test result is the same …

Ubuntu 18.04 hasn't dropped AGP support - I said that the Unity desktop environment doesn't appear to work with AGP cards (when I tested it on my P4 Prescott - 32-bit - 7900GS). It worked with the GNOME3 environment in 32-bit though. For all I know, it is just Unity which doesn't work with AGP cards …
