Yes, I was able to run the whole system at CL2. I think I specifically used PC100 CL2 sticks rather than PC133 modules.

Fancy finding 4 MB soldered onto the VLB graphics card. Is this the only VLB card which had 4 MB soldered directly, that is, no in upgrade sockets or an upgrade expansion board?

I'm pretty sure the design is limited to running 486SXL CPUs. For the most part, its a straight one-to-one pin mapping. The limited circuitry on the adapter is only for hardware flushing of the SXL chips (FLUSH# pin only used).

Well, the reality is that this card is not an MSI-branded card. I would have more passion to fix it if it was an MSI NX6800 with dual DVI ports. Thanks for the results. Are you able to compile a chart for easy viewing? Do you know how the 6600GT compared with the 6800GT on the PIII-S Tualatin? And how it compared against, say, a GF4 ti 4600, FX5900, etc? What issues did you encounter with the 7800GS?
