good luck getting a 486 board first! (and plz don't get a PC Chips). I find v1-3 of Shuttle HOT-433 motherboards to be similarly problematic. But with any motherboard, some hardware will work well, and others not so well. Testing is a virtue!

Very well could be. I'd like to know where he got the Socket 7 and Socket 3 CPU holders. Those may come in handy. I was thinking it would be really geeky to place some in a picture frame and hang them on the wall.

I wonder if other 486 UMC chipset-based BIOSs will work? Like a HOT-433 flashable BIOS? That would be great if you could upload an image (or typed out) of the setup pages contained in the 1998 M919 BIOS setup. I am curious which, if any, user selectable changes they added.

Yes there are. The jumper settings for the cache are set appropriately for 1024 KB cache. POST shows 1024 KB cache.

sebaz_ri, How were you able to flash your M919 with the uniflash.exe program you uploaded? When I run uniflash on my M919, the option to flash the BIOS is greyed-out. All I can do is backup the current BIOS.

Spare part boxes are very important. Old hardware can crap out unexpectedly, leaving you in a panic. What motherboard/chipset did you do this test on? UMC chipsets and Banshee don't seem to mix well for me.
