Both my cards are rev5. When I get home I will try the Shareware versions of Duke3D and Descent yet I suspect I will get the same results as with the last retail versions. I am using headphones as well.

My atomic edition copy produces reverse stereo on rev 5 CT1330A cards. EDIT: because I am an idiot and still used swapped cabling for testing. Sorry. With Correct cabling, CT1330A REV5 behaves exactly like REV6.

The CT1330A rev5 plays DOOM FX with correct stereo, if it is stereo all (to my ears there are very little shifts) plays X Wing floppy version and Tie Fighter with swapped stereo unless Reverse stereo is checked EDIT: Not true: Tie Fighter floppy version has correct stereo audio FX. I must have …

A stab in the dark, but maybe you will have better luck with the earlier drivers. The latest ones from Yamaha's website, which are part of a Win 3.x package, did not work for me with an Audician32 on an IBM PS/1 system. Try other drivers as well.

I see. I couldn't check the version number because I did not ask the seller to power up the unit once again, but guess that it is either a v1.20 or v1.21. Maybe it is possible to upgrade from 1.20 to 1.21, although according to Cloudschatze, both are acceptable 😀

I have purchased an SC-55 that fits the description (matching looks and serial number in the Bxxxxxx range). Is it possible to upgrade to v1.21 - where can I find that ROM dump? Is it legally obtainable?

Great work all in all, amending the card's all curable deficiencies. Of course, one still needs to keep a real sb pro around to cover all shareware game bases, adpcm issues until a perfect sb pro clone is born from scratch - which I think will never happen.

As NJRoadfan said, the Bocalan card is 10BaseT as well (my memory failed on that). However, it seems there can still be a speed advantage over ISA NICs under certain circumstances.
