I know that 4MB simms 30p where very expensive at that time.. Mostly the 286er used 256K sipp / DIP (only later 286 board had simms) More common was DIP package for standard 286 boards. More expensiver used SIPPs.

Iam going to use 2MB in my 286 computer. Harddisk would be about 200- 500MB what normally was standard on 486 computers. 286s in the days had about 30- 60MB harddisk at least. Its reading on the whole chip.. Need to know the whole series.. The bigger chip is the north bridge, the smaller the south bridge.. Does the board having PCI slots? ISA and VLB only?

I need to know who made that motherboard. What chipset does the board have? Picture of the motherboard could help aswell. Advise: Always backup your old bios before you mess with it.. Because some board are not find anymore.. If you are unlucky, you have a motherboard which you cant use anymore.

I thought FIC boards did always used black memory slots. But there are familar to common use VIA chipsets.. A little bit more information from the topic starter should recommend.. Do you have a better picture of the chipset?
