You should make a BAT file reading something like: dosbox.exe D:\T7G\T7G.BAT -c "mount X X:\ -t cdrom" -fullscreen -exit where "X" = the CD-ROM drive. If you do not have a t7g.bat then you need to install it first. Make sure that your CD-ROM drive is loaded as per "mount X X:\ -t cdrom" and then …

What version of Windows are you using? If it is XP then DOSBOX probably is your best hope. If you are using Windows 95/98 (I don't know about 2000) then there is a patch available to make it run smoothly on Win 98. This is what I do and it works great.

Are you sure this is a copy protection bug? I am almost positive that SQ6 was a Windows game, and will not work in DOS. What is the name of the EXE file? If it is Sierraw.exe, then it is Windows only.

Sorry, that is a bit hard to follow, but my Freddy Farkas runs on Windows. I think it came with both DOS and Windows, so I just run windows which works fine. Perhaps you should check and see if a Windows version came with your game. It could be the simplest solution.

VBEPLUS does not appear to work. I am still getting the same VESA error for Ark of Time. This is annoying. There has to be a way.

Have you tried running the setup or install program again from DOSBOX. The CFG file could be trying to run a sound card whcih is not compatible with DOSBOX. Mine work fine. Also try CTRL-F12 and CTRL-F8.

Hmmm. I picked u[p 0.61 yesterday and after fiddling around more an hour or so got it working. I haven't played enough of it to know if the fading is a problem so I will try to keep this in mind, but at least it is running now! Thanks.

Use DARKSEED.EXE, not DS.EXE. You will not get the intro scene, but will go directly into the game.

If you haven't figured it out yet, the EXE file automatically setup the CFG file the first time you play, so you need to just delete the CFG file completely. When you start the game, it will look for the CFG file and when it fails to find it, it will then run your setup. Do not choose RealSound.

I don't know if there is a fix for the RealSound or not, but it will not work with anything but TRUE DOS. However, DOSBOX does a good ADLIB emulation so you should use ADLIB instead of RealSound. That is what I do.
