Slot 1 passive heatsinks always had a fan real close to the CPU If it is hot to touch just rig a fan to increase airflow over the heatsink and you should be more then alright.

if you run win /n it should bypass networking, so if you boot into windows. its most likely not picking up a DHCP address. This will most likely be driver issue as mtcp works so we know the physical network is good. I'm also unsure if you can have mtcp running at the same time but I'm guessing not …

The missing drive bay covers are annoying but the Mhz, power switch make up for that. Case that size you should be able to rig a standard PSU if needed somehow. Depends on how much you need/want a AT case is how much I'd pay. but they are becoming more and more rare and beggers cant be choosers.

I had a similar different cards for different OS's setup on a 486 while back. If you use have a couple of the same CF cards you don't even need to worry about changing the HDD setup in BIOS as the PC wont know its 2 different cards.

You could always simply make a boot disk to do this I'm assuming your real fdd isa: and the gotek is B: boot the PC (from HDD, FDD, os version, doesn't matter) with disk1 in a: type sys A: b: this will copy the boot files off your dos 5 disk onto the gotek image. IBM have pretty good upgrade path! Usually its just CPU's not whole socket upgrade 😉 Kinda cool having matching Retro and daily PC's and as highlighted in your pic, desktops stack nicely to save space, especially if its the same case. I am actually surprised how well everything fits

Is this a new install of windows? I'm guessing you installed the windows installer 2.0 update? Which version of D Tools you trying to install? I'm not home so cant check which version I use for Win98 but someone else will let you know a good working version.
