Good to know it was the cmos battery as got the same system. I would say its just an incompatibility. This motherboard is a true Intel board so for stability is better then the P2B, of course stability comes at the cost of advanced/overclocking features though.

I have the same speakers only it says "SOUND BLASTER" instead of "SOUND GALAXY" Came with the PC which had a SB16 and Creative 2x CD drive. Horrible tinny things, had them distort in Rise of the Triad in the tracks with plenty of Bass if it was turned up too loud. Still intend to fix 'em up one day …

Not looking forward to it but when my 1 and only dallas chip fails I'm doing the CR2032 hack. With my soldering skills (or lack of) seems like the safer option and permanently solves the problem.

not that I think the original Audigy was more fragile then the rest but I've got 3 Audigy 2 ZS's of ebay all work fine. Audigy1,2,ZS all work fine in Win98 as alternatives if your not aiming for a specific year. I'm pretty sure the Audigy 4 also works fine but cant confirm this

Above sums it up perfectly. Voodoo come into their own for 3d games that support 3dfx glide (Quake & Tomb Raider to name 2 of the big ones) But if your not playing games that require Glide they don't offer any benefit then the TNT2 (In a pure dos PC)
