Fingers crossed, I had bad luck earlier in the year with some Kingston 133 RAM, 3 out of 5 were bad from 2 different sellers. Not trying to say its a bad brand or anything, it's old and even brand name stuff dies eventually. I just wish it was me that purchased it new with its lifetime warranty.

This was brilliant! It was so well written I can see why a few people missed the sarcastic tone. RAMBUS system is nice to have in a collection, much like VL-BUS, it's an interesting to have now as its a bit of tech that was obsolete before it even really started.

Even a POD83 will leave you disappointed in Duke3d or Quake, if that's your sole reason for the upgrade I wouldn't worry about it. Doesn X-Fi have even better EAX support than Audigy 2 ZS? It should also have WinXp drivers. It does, EAX 5 vs EAX 4 with the Audigy line, Not that many games supported EAX 5, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_games_with_EAX_support Good XP support and PCIe made the decision pretty easy for me.
