Re: Disable Ctrl-Esc

luckie - I don't think there is anything you can do in DOSBox to intercept CTRL-ESC. That key-combo is handled by the SDL-library and forwarded to Windows. If you really, REALLY want, I assume you can compile a version of SDL that forward the key-combo to DOSBox instead. Edit: Or maybe not. If wd …

Re: Enable CON to handle DBCS characters

knowen - I don't remember if you can specify the keyboard layout in DBGL, but if that is impossible, you can create a little BAT-file with Notepad (e.g. StartETA.Bat ) with the lines to set the keyboard and then start ETA. Something like Keyb tr ETA.Exe Put the StartETA.Bat file in the directory …

Re: Weird audio volume problem in Windows XP

After a lot of searching I have come to the conclusion that it is not a problem specific to my PC. Seems like it is a problem with Windows Media Player 11. There is even a program out there, VolumeLock, to keep programs from messing with your volume settings. For now I have simply re-assigned MIDI- …

Re: Possible fix to mount any real CD in OS X.

IIGS_User wrote: You're right I think, the mount -t "cd9660" must invoke the mount_cd9660, so the second one should be used. I don't recommend that. Keep using mount as the command, and only look up the manual page for the filesystem specific mount-program to get details about fs-specific options …

In Media Player Classic, only if a manual change to volume while playing MIDI files, the volume control panel would reflect the change. Testing with video(w/sound), mp3 and wave files only changed the player's volume, but not in the control panel. Winamp has the same behavior, only volume changes …

Re: Enable CON to handle DBCS characters

Download kpdos25x.zip from this site: http://www.ibiblio.org/pub/micro/pc-stuff/freedos/files/dos/keyb/kblayout Then extract the 3 SYS-files (KEYBOARD.SYS, KEYBRD2.SYS and KEYBRD3.SYS) and put them in the directory where you have installed DOSBox 0.70. Start DOSBox and at the Z: prompt type: Z:\> …

Weird audio volume problem in Windows XP

in Milliways
Seems like I have a weird bug on my system. Whenever I exit Windows Media Player it will turn the volume of my MIDI/Synthesizer device (in the sound volume control panel) down to zero. When I then open an MIDI file with any of my media players (wmplayer.exe, mplayer2.exe or realplay.exe) the player …

'APPDATA' is an environment variable that will point to: C:\Users\'Username'\AppData\Roaming 'LOCALAPPDATA' is an environment variable that will point to: C:\Users\'Username'\AppData\Local Any output from DOSBox (screenshots, videos, etc.) should be targeted to one of the above locations. DosFreak wrote: Of course problem is these folders are only visible when hidden files is turned off and they are not very accessible anyways. Visibility should not be a problem if the installer created a (Notepad) shortcut to dosbox.conf in the Programs menu.

Re: Vista testing help needed !

I haven't even seen a Vista install :) Coming from a Unix background, I have always considered /bin and %ProgramFiles% off-limits for ordinary users. Diskless workstations typically mounted /bin from a shared NFS-server which would convert all access by the local root account to nobody on the NFS- …

Re: Vista testing help needed !

I don't like the idea of assigning admin rights, or meddling with folder rights now that Microsoft finally is trying to tighten up security in Windows. Is there a problem if people keep their DOSBox drives inside their %AppData% or My Documents folder?? Isn't that what we want Joe Average User to do …
