Yep I'm still happily running Win7 on my media server here too. I understand that it's more fun to get your knickers in a bunch and run around the internet decrying Microsoft's efforts to ruin your life, but it's really not that hard to reject their advances if you want to.

Regular WD90C30 would be best for 286. I do have an WD90C30 but unfortunately the image quality isn't acceptable. It might be faulty or just a poor implementation but from time-to-time there's a a fine but annoying 'wobble' to what should be sharp lines, particularly in high contrast situations …

The Turbo does indeed work quite well. Engaging it and you get a similar performance to a 386DX 25 MHz I would say.
