I've been pretty lucky, no rude ones and generally very helpful. I bought an IBM ps/1 the other day from interstate, and the seller offered to bring it with him on a trip he was taking which happened to have a stop over in my city. That's pretty generous! It weighs about 13 kg's.

I've never noticed any difference, just making Sound Canvas owners feel special perhaps? Nice work! Pretty standard looking vlb board, someone's taken the vga card, etc but that's no big deal. 50% of the boards I find from that era have acid damage but I can't see a battery there at all? Hopefully there's an external battery header to make things easy on you.

To me it looks like the color difference is just brightness / contrast. The cards have different maximum levels on the analog outputs, this could be compensated by the controls of the CRT That's almost word-for-word what I was about to say. Some cards just drive the output signals a little hotter …
