If you want an ISA slot, I think it will be easier to try and pair a Slot1 to Tualatin slocket with a supporting board.

last one with REAL OPL chip, so better than most SB16. When you say the "last one", are you referring to the OPL1 chip? Some of the AWE32 boards have an OPL3 on them.

When all else fails, use aluminum tape! That's how I secured a heatsink I had removed that was attached with some kind of adhesive paste. The paste was 15 years old and needed to be replaced. It works fine. Changes to SETVER won't take effect until the system it rebooted; maybe that was the problem. Also, SETVER has to be run at least once to initialize in memory after the reboot. It's most likely that the user in the other thread made a mistake.

In Mechwarrior2 I can setup my joystick as a MS Sidewinder 3D Pro (pivot, pov-hat, 8 buttons, throttle). But when I use the joystick drivers with VDMSound it goes balistic in-game. Why is this happeneing? Technically dos only needs "generic" drivers and the game does the rest.
