That's pretty cool if it's still being developed, or at least maintained. Maybe once it gets obsoleted, we'll see some of the hardware trickle out into the used market.

That NEC MultiSync FE700+ looks fantastic. Also, what's wrong with the Dell monitors that even the DVI signal is bad? Is the panel old or the CFL bulb going bad?

Getting new grease into the bearings is difficult, and depends a lot on how the motor is assembled. Some motors actually have removable bearings. With others, they're glued in. Pretty sure the pixel shader functions for non DX8 cards were used mostly by tech demos and not much else, with no rigid standard before DX8 there was no common frame work to use them so IIRC they were only used infrequently. Not sure any games used only pixel shaders and not vertex shaders too …
