With faulty cache you will not be able to install DOS I can tell you that :) Likely your RAM has issues. Ive tried 3 different memory sticks, all of which throw the error. Would it have anything to do with statewait options in the bios? I will get some detoxit from work and give that a shot on all …

Test the game in DOSBox using differing number of cycles (and 386 versus 486 should provide an approximate test of cpu difference). It is a Biostar MB1433/50 aea-u (looks like it anyway -- model number is between the ISA slots). I have a similar board; that Dallas clone RTC (next to the bios prom) will probably have to be replaced 😀
