I had this problem as well but never trash them as the ram on them is so difficult and expensive to find. Scrap the ram and mod a working one for extra memory on each TMU. Frame buffer on the 8mb and 12mb cards is already maxed but you can go 8mb on each tmu easy. I wonder what a card like that …

Did it come with thermal tape or similar? It came with nothing, not even a box :) However, this must not be a problem, most people on this forum have thermal grease and epoxy in stock. My cooling solution for V2 - 100x65,5x15mm cooler used in audio equipment. Worth $4 for two. It has a huge surface for good heat exchange, you can also mount one or even two 50x50 FANs on each.

I'd say Diamond V2s are among the best Voodoo 2 cards. Unlike cheaper cards, they use "100Mhz" 25 ns RAM chips, which is great for overclocking. They also have no tall conponents on the PCB, so you can attach whatever large heatsink you like.

Never noticed this to occure on expansion cards. However, I've seen s478 motherboards that are so bent near CPU socket that they were almost touching the case. They had cheap and ugly CPU coolers, that could not be installed without much force.

Xeon x3220 SLACT is a rebranded Core Quad Q6600, one of the best CPUs for early 1066 Mhz LGA 775 boards. I own an x3230 and it outperforms older core i3s and runs a little slower than my i5-450M. Definitely keep it!
