AWE64 is pretty crap compared to some other sound cards. Id personally stick with AWE32 and Live for windows.

Holy shit i saw that exact video a long time ago, cant believe its the same card 😁 But everything is indicating its a scanner card, so I think thats whats it gonna be in the end.

Looking at the individual components, JRC 723D is an high precision voltage stabilisator, and Nec uPC844C is an quad speed OPamp. I doubt MIDI needs such things, plus there is no component to galvanically separate the connector from the rest of the electronics, which is usually present in MIDI …

I did a little thinking, couldnt have capacitance choosing for either chip be done with a simple dipswitch, or jumper? I tihnk that would be more modular than fixing the card to one chip.

It seems it was an error in the CD it self. The Interface Adapter is AMD SCSI-2.

I get low CD Read speeds on my Windows 3.11. The drive indicates that it is operating in 4x read mode, but the transfer rate is 110kB. (less than 1x). The WAV file size that I want to play is around 35MB to 50MB. The CD Drive is connected VIA SCSI port.

I think there is no need to port actual games, but simply write an emulator. Those phones were a lot more limited than new technology smart phones. They should be able to easily emulate them.
