The Vision968-P is probably the best choice out of the bunch. Before I make any specific HW combinations, do you really want to fill up all the 4 AT cases with 486 hardware? What about saving one or two for Socket 4 or Socket 5? Lots of fun stuff there as well.

For 486 and early Pentium systems Quake is a great game to crash your system if it isn't stable. Doom, 3DBench and all the other have higher tolerance levels, but then comes Quake and it fails pretty quickly.

PCI soundcards still work well with the DOS games that fit this machine like Descent, Duke Nukem 3D, Tomb Raider, etc. It is mostly the older DOS games that are picky about PCI soundcards cards.

I just tested the demo and it does work, even on a Midas3 card. So I tried that, but it runs in some DirectX mode? And only code is the small exe, hum. If you remove the the PowerVR card it just gives a SGL.DLL error, so it has to be PowerSGL, right? Readme and other documentation available online …
