Just tested with my GX2. 1600x1200 works in both 16bit and 8 bit colors on my Samsung SyncMaster 204B 1600x1200 monitor. I'll test with my DX as well.

What happens if you flex the cable near each connector (while it's on)? The wires inside the cable might be broken or loose.. usually you'll see this with a cable that has spent much of its life with a sharp bend in it. Makes no difference. Yes it is a CRT. Try connecting the montior cable directly to the Voodoo card after starting the game up. Then you take the passthrough cable out of the equation

Having a Voodoo 2 can also work with the P200. Yes, it will require the use of batch files to get the Glide DOS games running, but you will be able to play games at 800x600 (or 1024x768 with SLI). POD and Quake are examples of games that run very well in 800x600 on a P200.
