It is nice to dream but I always end up settling for the cheap stuff like a Dell AT101w ect. There are some nice keyboards but that "gamer" look can be annoying and there is always extra "features" that go unused.

For $25 you will seldom find better deals than this epically when it is in good condition. I think that you will find plenty of games that will run on this machine playable. Don't worry to much about the cpu not being fast enough.

I have had stuff that sat out for years and salvage machines/parts that most would have never thought would work. When it comes to ESD it is all about the environment is stored, come a dust storm and everyone can feel the static in their hair even a anti static bag might not be enough.

May as well build around the most modern components internally but you can figure everything else. I am not sure if there is any schematics on hand but you could copy the design on an existing unit then modify to your needs.

64mb is more than enough for a 486 rig, NT should run ok just for kicks but storage is a pain.
