Socket 7 hands down as you get a wider range of support and can emulate slower systems so you can enjoy dos games at more appropriate speeds. Slot 1 is more of a pure 9x and xp platform for late 90s and early 2000s games.

Well I am scrounging eBay and sure enough I was wrong about the boards as there is a few with the weitek socket but most are not price fairly (like hundreds of percent overpriced). This is one of many reasons to have a lot of spares on hand for testing but collecting these days is getting harder, it is possible that board might still be working and that it is being picky but it is odd that the rest of the system isn't working.

Just use a socket A cooler that uses both portions of the mount but just be sure the clip isn't to tight so not to risk breaking the remaining mount.

Hard box with lots of bubble wrap, packing paper, and anti static bags. I refuse to use soft packaging like envelops ect unlike some greedy pricks that do it to save a buck only to end up with broken items.
