Yes, both Collector and Jorpho are right. What rayman writes is not in any way related to your problem AND just not a good advice on any Windows version newer than Windows XP. And best follow Jorpho's advice and stick to your thread. This one is polluted with bad advice. So I'm locking it now

Of course only people that pay wages or own companies should be allowed to vote. After all, employees are only able to pay taxes because these employers exist. And then you will find that you don't even need votes ;€

Not that I heard of. A starting point would be to research whether a linux bootmanager was able to run and then whether that is able to boot dos. EFI is the big problem...

Yes, Ultima 8 runs in Dosbox with xms and ems set to true and that's it. So Jorpho is probably right that there is some other problem. Incomplete installation or write protection or... Also, please post dosbox questions in the dosbox forums. I'll move the thread Edit: just looked it up, my batch …

I'm sorry to have to close this thread but we don't support abandonware here and more or less asking here to have this game hacked to preserve it for abandonware sites doesn't fit this rule.

Do the lights on the mt32 show any activity? If not reverse the midi plugs on your mt32 (adapter midi out should go to midi in on your mt32). If there is activity the midi part should be fine and the problem is in your sound setup or the mt32 sound output.

Just to warn you that not much probably comes from this. Unofficial builds are not supported here and MB6 is ancient... But AFAIR you need some additional software installed on your Windows machine, upgrading that might help. Generally going through every step you once did to set this up might solve …

You can do all that with autohotkey. Start the script with dosbox (or rather a script converted to exe can start dosbox), exit when you exit Dosbox. But my Autohotkey is rusty, seven years ago I switched to OS X but before I used Autohotkey for something like that.

You run Autohotkey in the background and you can set it to only run this script when Dosbox runs. It can probably even configured to only run when you play the game in Dosbox as Dosbox' titlebar shows that and Autohotkey can check for this.
