could have different reasons. if you switched to a 64bit linux OS, your Dosbox-x is now 64bit and missing the 64bit dynamic recompiler, which is the secret to speed 😀

You might be more successful getting the packagers to include the two patches than getting the Dosbox devs to release a new version for those unable to spend half an hour to roll their own SVN built of Dosbox

After reading more in depth, it is a bit different. The original bug report in 2009 was indeed just about using the bundled Dosbox 0.65. Eventually it became partly about Wine using the native DOSBox which is not correctly working in all cases.

well, with a little tinkering you can have 32bit Dosbox in most OS and that's what I'm recommending. Alternative builds can be tricky when the code has not been properly maintained and breaks on building on anything other than Windows. But that is not the problem with the bug report mentioned.

Linux version unfortunately probably matters. If that linux is 64bit then it is a wonder that 0.74 even runs on it. Try running the latest source of Dosbox.

Use Dosbox-x and ask the author for instructions. Daum implemented Dosbox-x but since Daum is slightly broken and Dosbox-x has been developed further since the last Daum release... -> use Dosbox-x 😉

Yes it shouldn't ba an issue if there were an Universal ppc/intel release. But just judging by release time, UT was released for classic OS at a time when there was no OS X yet and there weren't intel Macs.
