Unlees this is a legal version (and I doubt that), it's not supported here. Not to mention that DOSBox is not an FM Towns emulator and thus can't run it anyway. By following my guide. Do read it and towards the end you will notice that you can ALSO use a bootimage. Which means you don't need it. Just install Windows 3.x as the guide tells you to.

So, start fresh, following either Windows 3.x guide (sierrahelp's or mine). If you are doing anything else please say so or in the case of youtube video guides, ask there.

Windows 9x is not supported and not stable in Dosbox. We recommended Windows 3.1x in Dosbox for this game.

Reset by deleting the mapper file. Are you sure you tried all config settings? It's not just 2/4 buttons but also timed not timed...

Seriously, follow my guide OR read the whole guide on sierrahelp, the special long section of installing drivers might help. It's all written there, you just need to read it. If that doesn't help give details of your mountings, where you extracted the drivers to, etc.

make sure your older controller is not attached. The console window of Dosbox should tell you whether the controller got recognized and is being used.

The C:\S3 in that guide is just an example and only valid if you happen to use that path when you follow the instructions of "unzip into a subfolder..." If you had followed my guide... 😉

As far as I understood, running Windows on the mac via bootcamp "solves" the problem. It's just with OS X that it doesn't work or needs more clues on how to make it work. Same machine, different OS'...
