With lockstock dosbox NO shader will work, since it doesn't have support for that (rightfully since afaik shaders are not exactly cross platform).

If you mount d as cdrom and then start the game from the cdrom that can't work. Mount c as you did before, mount your real cd rom drive as d then change to d and enter install. If you don't have the original cd roms you know what's wrong and we can't help you further.

Other than that you are on your own since I haven't used mingw/msys in ages and never had to do anything with cmake back then. Try to google it

You don't run configure on mt32lib. You need to run cmake and then make. Cmake is an alternative to the autotools (autogen, configure... Etc). If you dont have anything compiled don't expect anything that depends on it to compile...

You need the *lib*in the lib folder that your compiler uses (c:/mingw/libs probably). You get the lib when you compile the mt32emulib.

You have to use imgmount Instead of mount when you want to mount an image. If you did this and just miswrote it, again, please check the contents of the cue file with a texteditor.

Did you check the cue file for the path to the bin file? The cue file is just a text file which you can edit. It should only say something like "RAYMAN1.BIN" and not c:/somepath/rayman.bin. Another angle would be that you write us where EXACTLY the cue and bin file are AND your EXACT mounting …

Yes, bin/cue images and imgmount are the way to go on OSX for games with audiotracks. When you have the bin/cue file pair, open the cue file in text edit to make sure that it doesn't have a Windows path written for the bin file and place them in the same folder. mount c somefolder imgmount d path-to …

Let the VM grab the CD and then make a bin/cue image with Alcohol (the trial version works all right). Later use imgmount instead of mount in dosbox to mount the image (read the readme).

How did you try to make the image? Because on OS X there is no good way to mount a game CD with audio tracks. Best way to do it, is unfortunately through Windows and with Alcohol 120%... BUT I'm not even sure if music plays through audio tracks ;) Did you search here for previous discussions on …
