1. What is your mount command? It should be "mount a a:\ -t floppy" 2. Did you mount a c drive? "mount c c:\dosgames" (the folder dosgames need to exist on your real C:\) 3. On further problems write down each command you enter in dosbox and what the result of the command is and post it here

Neither is a card and pcjr games do not necessarily run in tandy mode. And even it werethe case of variations, using the driver of one or the other is still thoughtless.

If it's not knowledge than *think*. why would the dosbox bother to emulate the same card and use different machine names for it? Anyway have you tried to force the scaler?

Because I didn't have any documentation that told me that wasn't the right card to use? using the driver of one brand with another is just plain *not thinking* or would you use an AMD graphics driver for a Nvidia graphics card? The windows .1 dosbox guide does mention which driver to use for each …

The wirless apple keyboard is not really suited for dosbox, it's misding other keys as well. You will have to experiment with the keymapper to find suitable keymappings for such games.

Two points, AFAIK kings quest is not freeware and abandonware is not legal. Also look at sierrahelp.com for sierra games dosbox installers.

Please follow the 60 seconds guide. Follow it to the letter. If that still fails, do it again and write down all the mountings you did in dosbox and every other command you entered.

2 things you can do, get rid of libpng in macports (and you lose screenshot function) or add libpng to the makefile like the other stuff (replace -lpng with /opt/local/lib/llibpng.a (might be libpng14.a or so)).

you can do the above on your other machine as well. Since they are both behaving badly in the same way it doesn't matter much which one you use

Now I'm baffled as well. With this being a new system setup, did you install anything else since the time it worked? Maybe something got added to your ~/.profile file? copy/paste it please.
