Windows 3.x doesn't come with quicktime. You need to install it yourself or software/games that need it installs it. In the case of qt sometimes even messes with the installed version.

@qbix: I thought of that as well. But is WOrd Perfect freeware? I guess not, so the answer to this problem should be something like... We don't care?

1st of all if you follow the list of steps there will not be a quicktime installed for you to uninstall. And when I read the first post of the thread you link to, then the steps are: 1. This only happens if you don't do it from the windows folder normally. Anyway you can do it from within windows as well.

Iso format is flawed because it can't include audio tracks. And for copyprotected games it might not be the best as well. But for data tracks only CDs without copy protection I'd stick to iso.

I'm not sure whether that will work as you intend, that you can switch cards for all games. Some might give you the option to choose the card, some might not. For 3dfx cards it made sense as the 3dfx card was taking over glide and the other direct3d stuff.

Yes, a mod WILL move it at some point. All things dosbox go into the dosbox forum. This forum is for getting old windows games working on new Windows OS'. Definitely first try with sound drivers installed. I never tried quicktime without sb drivers so that might really be the culprit...

Doesn't work is a broad term. Be more precise. Maybe install sound blaster drivers first. Also this is a dosbox topic, so next time, write this in the dosbox forum.

Google will tell you, maybe even vogons search... I don't think emulating it would be too hard, it's just not needed for games.

Do you NEED those settings, does the program NOT work in dosbox without these? Have you tried? If you REALLY need those you will have to use a hard drive image and use the dosbox boot command.

So far no one brought a game up that needs share... If you need it you have to use a hard disk image in Dosbox. There is a fake share added to the Windows 3.x guide BUT this really only makes progeams think share is enabled, so if a program needs the functionality of share it will have bad results. …
