yep. readme is a good place to start. But for now, the slash on an US Keyboard setting on a German keyboard is at # (I'm posting this because on a typical German keyboard that key is ABOVE the shift-key)

I edited the guide on how to run Windows 3.1x a bit to point out to not run dynamic core in Dosbox 0.65, how to setup graphics drivers and how tohandle it if the setup crashes because of too many graphics drivers 😀

okay, by changing the config line in the midi section of Dosbox.conf: [midi] mpu401=intelligent device=win32 config=0 to 1 you will be using the MS GS Wavetable and midi should sound different. 0 will be back to the yamaha.

uhm, just assume that a DVD drive is the same as a CD-Rom drive. If you want to mount a CD-Rom in your DVD drive, use the same settings as for mounting a CD-Rom drive. If you want to mount just a directory on a DVD-Rom (or CD-Rom) just follow standard mounting procedures. I wonder if the readme …

perhaps yor default midi output is the same as the yamaha? 😀 Seriously, in Windows, open the Windows audio settings and check whether the yamaha or another device is the default outpout for midi.

Problem with Windows 9x and Dosbox is not so much slowness but unsupported devices and that it likes to crash. At least last time I tried, two or three months ago.

as you figured out yourself, yes, you need SDL for compiling DosBox. Grab the development stuff labeled for mingw in the sdl download site. OR better compile it yourself.
