Re: Wine - Old Windows Games Compatibility?

I'm just getting tired with having to muster up workarounds and hacks for every single old game I pick up lately to get it to work with Windows 7. Case in point: Ignition at first crashed when started and when I fixed that, there's no CD music. Now take a look at wine compatibility report of that …

Re: Ignition on Windows 7 x64

Since it should work, I downloaded the 3dfx patch from another source and now the game starts up. However, there's no CD music. It kinda wants to start at the very beginning, stutters for a second, and then there's nothing. Generally the sound is rather buggy. For example, the sound effects in the …

That's not it. The one I have in mind was even more cheerful, mild, and cartoony. And if that helps, I'm pretty sure the player didn't receive any radio commands.

[solved] Old arcade flying game

in Milliways
This is another one of those games I had a demo of from a magazine CD. I remember it was very fun to play but I can't remember the title. It was an arcade-style flying game. You could fly around in biplanes, "regular" planes, and I should imagine some other stuff too since as I recall, when you exit …

[solved] Ignition on Windows 7 x64

in Windows
As is claimed in here: https://www.facebook.com/ignitiongame/posts/128691297201474 Ignition can be run on Windows 7. There's one problem. That method seems to work fine only for the 32 bit version of Windows, not the 64 bit one. I have the exact same problem as the first commenter on the list; The …

Re: Motorhead - no CD music

If you're using a nocd crack, try not doing that. I was using a no-cd crack since after installing the 3.0 patch (I'm obsessed with always having the latest version of any software and games), the game would no longer launch and request for a CD. However, during the installation of the patch …

*speaks with a movie trailer voice* 9 programmable buttons that you will never use! Internal memory to store profiles which will be utterly useless unless you won't be the only user of the mouse! 8200 DPI Laser Sensor which will work like crap unless it's on a perfect and expensive mouse pad! Ok, on …

The .reg file didn't do the trick. Good thinking, though. As for the sound settings in the game I only have a choice of direct sound or no sound. Isn't IndirectSound used just to restore surround sound in games?

Re: Anyone have bad luck with Linux?

I remember when I first installed a Linux (Ubuntu) on my computer just to see how it works some years ago, I was pretty impressed (at first). The drivers were sorted out for me and a lot of good, useful software came out of the box with the OS. It seemed to me that if I just tweak a few things and …

Yes, the volume is at 100%. Hmm... I'm gonna test the image on my XP machine to see if I can get the music to work there. Although if it does, it's gonna be painful to have to play the game on that computer rather on my main one now that I got it to install and work...

Re: Motorhead - no CD music

There is an entry for motorhead in the Wow6432Node directory. CdDir is already set to the correct drive. Remember CDDA games often only look for CDDA only on the first CD drive on your system (by letter, not by hardware order) Hmm... in that case it would be prudent to burn the image and put it in …
