Re: Motorhead - no CD music

in Windows
That's probably the problem right there. That entry does not exist. I tried creating it but so far it doesn't work. Is this how it's supposed to look?

[solved] Motorhead - no CD music

in Windows
So yeah, another issue with the game. This time, I can't get the techno soundtrack to play. To install the game on Windows 7 I was advised by Bladeforce to replace the installer with a 32 bit one, otherwise it wouldn't start. To do that I had to copy the contents of the CD onto my hard drive, and …

I don't think so. If there was, a moderator would have probably put the posts of this thread in there. leileilol wrote: Around the same time frame.... and also hilariously shoehorned with Nascar... Jeff Gordon XS Racing? Not it. Although I will definitely check it out... looks awesome...

Re: No CRT Emulation? Why!?

I remember hearing a similar discussion regarding audio quality. My literature teacher argued that music is best listened to from tapes, or better yet, from record discs. He claims that that way, the music has a "climate" that's gone with digital, remastered quality. I beg to differ. Whether we are …

Definitely will check out FreeJack. Also, watching the nascar cartoon inspired me to look for racing animes, and so far I'm puking rainbows. There are so many! Watching Cyber Formula atm.

Re: Futuristic racing movies?

Just watched the first episode and the main problem I have with it is that it shouts out too much exposition too quickly. Hopefully will get better. Watching a cartoon makes me feel kinda weird... but oh well, I enjoyed it.

Re: Futuristic racing movies?

Yeah that one apparently doesn't focus as much on the futuristic part as on the crime part. The drivers are convicted felons who are forced to fight for survivor by their prison warden. From what I gather, in the 1975 version isn't quite like that.

Re: Futuristic racing movies?

That would be a great example of what I'm looking for. I don't normally watch movies older than from the 80s but I think I'll make an exception in this case, thanks. Any other ideas?

Futuristic racing movies?

in Milliways
There's a pretty well-developed futuristic racing game genre, be it on consoles, or on PC. Games like F-Zero, Dethkarz, Rollcage, Space Haste all seem to have similarities. Considering how many racing games of that kind there are, it is reasonable to assume that people used to love that stuff. …

Re: Obscure Old Racing Game

well, the gameplay video either doesn't have the track that I used to play on, or it's not the same game. Either way, I can't wait to play Motorhead. The track designs look like someone mixed Dethkarz and Rollcage together. Looks freakin' awesome. Even if it turns out not to be the game I was …

[solved] Motorhead installer refuses to start

in Windows
I'm aware that there already is a thread related to that game but everyone involved in it had problems running the game on Windows 7 after it's been installed. I'm having no luck even getting that far. I go to mhead\Motor\disk1 on the disc, and I run setup.exe with Windows 95 compatibility (I've …

Again, not a DOS game. Edit: Sorry, Procyon, I somehow managed to miss your post: Just firing some titles. Speed Haste Ultim@te Race Pro XCar Fatal Racing Motorhead Screamer 1 2 or Rally Speed Demons (Microids) Hi Octane Of all of these Motorhead looks the closest to the blurry image in my memory. …

Re: Windows XP and Windows 7 - Playing Old Games Over LAN

in Windows
There is a virtual adapter which was installed along with VirtualBox, but I disabled it, and the problem occurred before I even installed VirtualBox. Other than that, the only adapter is my physical adapter. Tried the profiles, didn't work. The games I tried are: Dethkarz, Re-Volt, Flatout, 3D Live …

Re: Obscure Old Racing Game

Nope. There are similarities, but the general "feel" of the game was very different. While P.o.D has a kinda dirty, junkyard-style thing going for it, the game I'm looking for was considerably cleaner. In fact, I remember the textures being very plain.

Wine - Old Windows Games Compatibility?

My aim is to make my main, reasonably modern PC the main system for both modern and old games. I know it's possible to emulate Windows 98, be it in Dosbox (which, I hear, is not a recommended option), or any VM software (which also is, apparently, not recommended). With emulation comes performance …
