Any of the Phenom IIs with 6MB of L3 cache would be best. I believe the fastest Ph X2 was the 570 Black Edition. The only dual-core AMD I have is the Opteron 185 for S939. I run mine at 3GHz. No, it was fully stable at 1.45v The only overvolting I did was on the P2-400 and Yonah processors, but they were much higher overclocks; from 400->533 and 2166->3083, respectively.
