I have some of this same power supplies lying around, you can have one if you pay shipping. They are also from IBM thincentre's P4 systems with brand HI-PRO ACBEL or DELTA electrics. same builds format etc. And total power is 185w. as seen in my attachment.

What drive?, seagate? conner? They are that slow, make sure you run it on master mode, not slave mode.

Is it possible to replace the old NICD battery place with a 3v button cell holder? Or do i have to use the ext batt connection? what voltage of battery power do i need 3v 3.6v or more? Thanks

Have you tried the cpu in a other working board, are you sure it has become dead? I have got a K7D master from someone with 2x 1800 palomino, at first glance i see all the capacitors are bulged and bad. what if you cool them down? Could be chipset issues, pci bios settings etc. I would not ditch them, if you need to throw them out, i want to buy them from you for certain. I could use the SOJ ram very much.

try to see if it works when you heat up the board. hairdryer. If you do not succeed, do not ditch it, i would also like to give it a try. No scratches on the PCB that have cut any track.

The thing is, not many people care, older hardware older than 3-4 years is a waste of their time. Obsolete is obsolete, they do not give f about support those hw even writing software to support newer os's. We few % guy's and maybe a few gal's are falling in the catagory weird, but i do not care …

The old pc stuff seems to last forever. I have seen too many modern pc's die / corrupted instead of the older P1 and before era stuff. i think 4mb is keeping the 286 busy, it is even enough for a 386sx.
