MX 200 was the version with 64bits SDR, half the memory bandwidth compared to the MX 400, still, I never had a good experience with Rages, if the TnT2 is not a m64 it could be an interesting card to use... but yes, I think the MX 200 is the best card of the bunch.

I agree on 2004, 2005 was already SM3.0, dual core and the preparation for the Xbox 360... but 2004 was when Doom 3, Far Cry and Half Life 2 were the best, and these games can be played on a fast Pentium 3, obviously a high end CPU from 2004 would do better (Athlon 64)

have anyone tried a Viper II z200 (savage 2000) with the 440BX? I remember this card used to work fine with my P3V133 back in the day, but now it just doesn't work at all with my p2b.

it was seriously bad in 1999, some 133MHz Pentium with a Trident 1MB card... in early 2000 I upgraded to a p3 600 coppermine, what a nice jump. but still, as slow as that p133 was, I could play most games I wanted...

I had no idea how fast that q8300 actually is. If I took my i3 back to stock speeds (3.06ghz) I think the q8300 is probably on a par with it gaming wise, and most definitely faster than my i3 in multitasking and encoding. Seems he got a really good deal! :D Presuming I get any spare money around …

I use a mousepad with my good old MS optical mouse, but unfortunately it's not as cool as duke nukem mousepad, it's just a mousepad from a local computer store from many years ago.

you are lucky, the q8300 alone is probably worth some $100 I live in a part of the world where is hard to have access to old hardware, so I basically rely on the high prices from ebay or something similar to get access to some parts I need/want 😒

just keep in mind this card is AGP 2x, (3.3V), and most "newer" boards are AGP4x or higher with 1.5v, so you can have problems with that.
