The Universal Spacerocket

Well,I'm back with a new system! First off, specs for everyone: ASUS P4P800-VM - this board first came with AMI BIOS,but after hard researching,I've got it to run 4 different BIOSes ( all Award, see list below the specs ) 1GB RAM DDR400 Intel Celeron D 2.66GHz (I ran a 1.7GHz Willamette and a 2.4 …

Re: Advent 7094 restoration project

Rebadge of a ECS laptop? As long as it doesn't heat like hell it's good. Also, make sure you check the caps in it,we all know that ECS uses crap G-Luxons in their boards. The BIOS looks pretty neat.Nice to see a laptop using a desktop motherboard-style BIOS. For the HDD,check if the laptop uses either …

Re: Asus P4P800 Pentium M upgrade

that's funny you mention that my other Pentium $ project, is also ddr2 and PCIe with an HD5570. It has a laptop pentium 4 that clocks well! i was mostly stable with stock volts at a 600mhz overclock! so i'm gonna volt mod it since it refuses to give me voltage options in th bios for this …

Re: Your Mothership PC Components

Here's my list of components I've been through: Motherboards: ASUS P2L97 (yes,I had this one too,but I accidentally killed the flash chip) Acorp 6BX/ZX/VIA82 (Skt370,microATX) Acorp 6BX/ZX/VIA81 (Slot 1,ATX) ECS K7S5A ECS K7S6A ECS K7VZA MSI KT3 Ultra (MS-6380E) MSI KT4AV (didn't work at all) ASUS …

Re: Socket 462 comes back!

Agreed. Here, from where I get my boards,Socket 7/Super Socket 7 is long extinct.Very very very rarely one or 2 appear.Generally Socket 370 are a bit more popular, along with Socket A.S478,it's pretty rare too,as I haven't been able to find one recently, and generally most of what S478 boards I got …

Re: Socket 462 comes back!

Alright, installed Windows 7 Lite on this system on the 10GB HDD.I really have to say,it's pretty fast, much like my Sempron 3400+,which also runs the same light version of Windows 7. Also,I read somewhere here on the forums that stock Intel coolers for Socket 370 are loud.Is that true?

Re: Socket 462 comes back!

I don't have any problem with the K7S6A. So far, just the CD booting has a problem in which only certain discs boot (mostly those which have a boot menu, like Windows 98 SE,LastXP v17 and Linux distros that have a GRUB boot menu)but I got around that by using PLOP Manager, which is based on Linux. Not …

Re: Socket 462 comes back!

The problem here is that it becomes to almost impossible to hunt down s478 boards at all. However,I once found a bunch of mobos. No 478 though. Here's what I remember they are: -Chaintech,S462,microATX,2x SDRAM,2 PCI and 1 AGP -some oem LGA775 DDR400 mobo with a weird heatsink and no fan,SiS chipset …
