Re: W.I.P Slot 1 rig!

I'll definitely consider it. Not sure if it will occupy the Gateway case. Maybe. If you can get a ASUS K7V-RM motherboard (Micro-ATX Slot A KX133 motherboard) then definately it will work, and you also get a AGP slot. If you can't find one, then this option for a small Slot 1/Socket 370 build is …

Re: Post pics of your CRT monitors

one would think so , but obviously no , the distance it traveled was about 400 miles , and it was well packed ,which only leads me to the conclusion that UPS were using it as a football. if anyone has an idea of how to fix this, I would be happy to hear it, since otherwise its actually a pretty …

Re: Simple XP rig

I have been thinking about that, and if I have luck I maybe build a 950MHz "Spitfire"Duron system.I gotta leave Intel to rest a bit. Also, what markings do you have on your PCCHIPS board?I might be able to identify it somehow.

Re: Boxed Items

I had a PS1 box with a PS1 and cables and things in it,but which I thrown away in 2012.The PS1 died because I accidentally broke the BIOS chip, but I still have the case from it (is painted yellow though, but was normal gray when I hot it),the video cable and the power cord too.I had to throw away the …

Re: Post pics of your CRT monitors

I've got a Magnum TV 5520 VT Stereo CRT television, using it as a TV and a monitor too.It only has SCART and RF,so I use a SCART-Composite adapter to use a PC or a console. For a short period I had a Pentium 4 rig installed under it,and now I generally use it with a Wii,a PS1 and a VCR. Pictures will …

Re: Simple XP rig

Back with another update. The EPoX motherboard is now replaced. It has a Chaintech MPM800-000LE motherboard, and I have onboard graphics, even though I don't use them.(I will use this system for emulating games on my TV and such, and my Radeon 7000 AGP card works the best)

Re: Simple XP rig

Yeah,I really want to save this board.Just gave it a good cleaning now,I'll see if it makes difference. Also, installed the other 256MB stick, and now at least it shows DIMM at rows correctly. This board also has a temp monitor that is shown whenever I boot the system, which helps me check CPU temps.

Re: Simple XP rig

Well, okay. On the other side,I changed the rig specs. Those are for now, until I can get an alternative that works for the HSF compound. MB:Epox EP-4PLA3I Rev 1.1 CPU:Pentium 4 1.7,I've got three other CPUs though (a Celeron D 2.66,a Celeron 1.7GHz and a Celeron 1.8GHz) 10GB Seagate HDD(I plan on …

Re: Socket 7 build

Nice rig Nahkri.Though, why didn't you get a USB bracked that had both USB ports combined in one cable? Also,it would be good to have 128MB RAM on this rig.I had a Socket 7 rig too, that was capable of working either VGA or Composite(NTSC though, wish it didn't die,I would have used it in my BX rig as a …
