Yeah it's not bad. It actually sounds just as good (maybe better) on AWE as it does on a Sound Canvas.

I've been playing Future Shock recently and then realised that Skynet allows you to play FS in 640x480. Nicely done. While I understand the concerns mentioned here, I personally would find Tapatalk support very useful. All of the other forums I frequent support it. It's far more responsive than my mobile browser (Opera mobile), supports notifications and is actually useable in low bandwidth/marginal signal …

No, just that it will work exactly the same way as any other soundcard. No benefit from using a GUS for sound effects in these games.

Fastest slot A TBird was 1GHz. PSU for this build is the Seasonic from this thread A tale of two PSUs - bought a few of them.

I'm guessing you got this error while installing the Windows software? It will refer to the WavEffects software wavetable synth. You can still use the hardware wavetable on the AWE64.

Technically multiple cards will cause a conflict on the FM port 388h, but in practice it works OK in my experience. The joystick port on 201h however will definitely need to be disabled on all but one card.

I played it to the end about 15 years ago. Enjoyed it a lot and I think you will too if you can get over the clunky controls.

Yeah that would be cool :-) I've never come across one. Got hold of a Deskstar 7k160 in PATA which is working like a champ. Single 127GB partition is massive for this build. Also went back to the last 30 series Detonators to fix a weird screen corruption in DOS VESA modes. Really not appreciating …
