Did you try this with "depth 16" instead of " depth 8" already? https://wiki.winehq.org/FAQ#The_application_I … ave_millions.21 Seems to be equivalent to Reduced Color Mode.

The game is currently on sale for ~1€ on GOG so I took a look at the exe. It uses GDI to access the desktop resolution but I couldn't find anything for the color depth there. So I downloaded the newest WIP and was able to get into the game just fine (should probably have tried that first :lol: ), …

The only thing mentioned that might have helped was WindowedAttributes = Borderless, FullscreenSize but alas it changed nothing. MS ACT is suggested by one person with the change of "simple window" applied... likely it already had such changes to it but the setting was tested anyways... just in …

Batman Arkham Origins Blackgate Deluxe and Vanquish refuse to boot. Steam says they're running then after 5 seconds it closes. Arkham Asylum looks fantastic now btw. In newer versions of dgvoodoo you can edit the file with notepad, older versions are encrypted. Can't check right now, you might need a WIP.

Try setting DefaultEnumeratedResolutions to "none" and ExtraEnumeratedResolutions to "640x480, 1024x768" in dgvoodoo.conf.

The Force Unleashed works but I had to bypass the launcher first. Would it be possible to add an option to dgVoodoo to let certain exes in a directory ignore the wrapper dlls and use "passthru to real DirectX" mode instead? The game used to have issues on Windows 7 (/Vista?) and could only be launched with the "-windowgui" command line switch. The exe has been hex edited to add the new resolutions. The launcher just writes to the registry so that the game uses the right resolution.

You could try Dxwnd and "Limit Resources". If that fails a VM would probably do the trick.

Here's an Autohotkey script that should fix it. Have it running in the background and press both left and right Alt after launching the game.

Drakensang now crashes at launch. I tried both lowest and highest settings. Drakensang The River of Time works with highest settings (SM 3.0) apart from the intro. Dark Messiah of Might and Magic seems to work flawlessly, apart from intro and mouse cursor not displaying. Darkstar One working fine …
