The 11th Hour is a game which sounds on LA much better than on GM. For run with best video quality it requires a Pentium machine. I use MT-32 with my Core 2 Duo system and have fun. And I don't understand why to build slow machine if I can throttle a fast machine.

I said it should work after Windows session and reboot (not via reset!), so it means that win-driver writes in DSP necessary values. Now need to disassemble …

Why exactly 744? YMF7x4 cards can play through SPDIF in pure DOS (probably not always) when you start Windows 9X then restart in MS-DOS mode. Aureal V2 has SPDIF mod by ZanQuance. It is a very famous method. Don't you know about it?

I use YMF754 on Intel 850 chipset with modified DSDMA for ICH2, not DDMA, DMA works through SB-Link. And I got a same DOOM crashes. So don't think that's some unique problem and don't try so hard. DOOM doesn't like YMF PCI at all. Try other games.

Sound Blaster + MT-32 it is then. 0kool , remember if you want to use Sound Blaster 16's WAVE sound and MIDI LA (MT-32) via SB16's MPU channel simultaneously it is impossible. All SB16/AWE cards do have this bug. The SFX+GM is working (with hanging notes bug or without), the SFX+LA isn't working. …

OK, I just mean that nF2/nF3/KT880/PT880/i865 are top configs for 98/ME. I think for WinXP-games era it is better to use 2-core CPUs and SP3 😀

Guys he doesn't see the different MIDI and OPL3. Explain him. OPL/FM commands aren't MIDI commands. But any MIDI file can be easy converted to OPL commands. Reversed process OPL>MIDI as I know is impossible. So if a game supports GM music it can play its MIDIs through OPL synth. But if a game …

Earlier I plugged my Voodoo1 into i845 motherboard with FSB133(533) CPU 2,40 GHz and all was fine in Win98 and in WinXP with later community drivers.

Install them both. Set primary AGP and all D3D game sessions will run on GeForce, all Glide sessions will run on Voodoo3. It will be so, be sure. You must only manually select monitor input when play glide.

Also keep in mind: the reference win9X drivers versions may sometimes cause issues when FSB frequency higher than 100 MHz. So if you see this try other unofficial "bug-fix" driver. Usually these issues may be with Voodoo1 and Voodoo2 SLI. Single Voodoo2 is working on high FSBs usually without …

If it is nForce3 you need not Windows XP, nF3 has Win9X driver. Just set FSB to 200 MHz and multiplier down to 4-5. It will be 800-1000 MHz CPU. Then install Windows 98.

No. It's not enough! I have shown you resistors between DSP and connector place, did you see? And capacitors are probably necessary too. Why don't you just buy a card with S/PDIF connector? Why do you make a problem when it is absent?
