I also wish we could have the config in the same folder. I don't use an install and therefore C:\Program Files\ or it's derivatives. Seeing how the app is for DOS based games, I have a DOS based mentality with it. 😀

Well, the ultimate WIn98 machine with a tie to the past (ISA slot) would be a 440BX chipset from Intel, specifically the ASUS P2B series of motherboards. Buy yourself a Powerleap PL-IP3/T adapter and you can get up to a PIII Tualatin 1.4Ghz CPU, more than enough for any Win98 game ever invented.

1280x1024 was when LCD's started getting good. Unfortunately the 5:4 AR messed things up. 1024x768 LCD's are mostly older and have slower response times. In a perfect world, DOS gamers would love a modern day 1024x768 LCD with 2ms response. I also love my Dell 2209WA if you want a do-all monitor. …

My first PC was an IBM PS/1 with that start screen. Wasn't Prodigy one of the options? I'd love to see that again. It had a semi-integrated12" VGA monitor with a horrible dot pitch IIRC, something like .39

I second (or third?) an Aureal Vortex2 board. Works in DOS but is SBPro compatible, not SB16. FM is poor but it's wavetable header works in pure DOS too.

Yeah, these Miracle monitors were a rare gem. SVGA up to 1024x768, color, and a standard DB15 VGA connector. Those POS systems didn't have any of that!
